It's nice that child-free Oprah recognizes this, but I think you (and other mothers) should be let off the hook for not embracing every single aspect of parenting all the time. Yes, we should all count our blessings. But that doesn't mean we should have to count them all the time, or feel guilty if we're grossed out/unhappy about some element of child-rearing.

I go to/work at a Unitarian church and every week in the prayer/meditation, practically the first thing the minister says is "our hearts are with those whose primary spiritual practice is raising small children." I just thought you'd like knowing that the fruity religious intellectuals have your back.
