your daily nonsense

People ask how the cats are getting along with The Hound.

Fine. Just fine.

Great picture of Growler and Turbo. You should know that Bigsie will be able to leap tall buildings in a single bound and all that kind of stuff-he's very special since he was born on the 4th of July! He's a doll!!

How do you do it? I'm trying to integrate a new dog into a home with an established cat and things are not going so well. Give me a little hope and tell me the first week was hellish with no one getting along and lots of barks and hissing. Please.

I'm glad Uncle Growler does not discriminate by species!

Does Bigsie resemble Hode in that pic?!?

Krista - the cat in question is an idiot who does not know his own species and can't detect what should be offensive qualities in other species. He would curl up like this with an alligator. I had/have two other established cats in this household. One has been surprisingly indifferent throughout the dog integration. The other one occasionally hisses and is generally disapproving, but he just scares Turbo, who freezes and will not move because he seems to think this makes him invisible to the cat. So there has been an array of responses, with Growler's lack of smarts resulting in the most favorable outcome.

Wendell - I see it. And Hode observed tonite that he doesn't look good in beige, which is a characteristic he apparently inherited from her. Perhaps he will favor her? (As an aside, I'm wondering how many children I'll have to have before I get one that looks like me. All I can claim on the two I have is low back/ass dimples...that's right, a midsection full of stretch marks and all I have to show for it is a genetic legacy consisting purely of ass dimples.)
